Interviews

What do medicine interviews involve?

Most Australian medical courses require you to sit an interview for admission.

Most commonly, this is a Multiple Mini Interview (MMI), involving rotating through stations with different questions and interviewers. MMIs are usually conducted online.

Occasionally, students complete the entire interview with a single panel (panel interview). This is more common in First Nations entry pathways.

Will I get an interview offer?

Every university uses different criteria to decide who will get an interview and the number of interview spots is rarely openly shared.

For undergraduate pathways, interview offers are often – but not always – based on the UCAT.

For postgraduate pathways, interview offers are often – but not always – based on the GAMSAT and undergraduate marks.

How can I prepare for interviews?

We can’t share specific questions from past interviews but we can provide general advice that will help you succeed.
